Hello, thank you for inquiring. Although Austin Air may have a patent pending on the filter which contains a HEGA like their Allergy Filter, this is different than a patent pending on specifically a HEGA cloth. Camfil and AAF Flanders also carry HEGA filters. The term HEGA comes from "High Efficiency Gas Adsorbers" and remove gaseous air contaminants (from FilterExperts.com).
