Hello, how fast any unit will remove VOCs is dependent on a variety of things such as but not limited to 1. the speed that the contaminants are coming into the room 2. the type of contaminants 3. the duration (or if they are a constant) they are coming into the space 4. the size of the space 5. the speed of the unit and lastly 6. the airflow of the room.
Ideally, the unit should be run on medium or low while still being faster than the source. Optimally, if the odor is extremely, suppliers may recommend even 10 air changes an hour. Most homes are aiming for 3-5.
The HEPA CADR for smoke is different than the removal of smoke. HEPA is for particulate contaminants, not VOCs.
